About Undercover Refugee

If you are here, you are probably looking for information, answers, support, or simply trying to understand this whole refugee resettlement process a little better.

You are not alone! I am sure you are aware that many people are confused, overwhelmed, stressed, hopeful, excited… and sometimes all four before breakfast.

This platform was created by Undercover Refugee, volunteers, and community members to help South Africans navigating the United States refugee resettlement program for qualifying Afrikaners and minority groups.

Whether you are thinking about applying, already applying, or have been approved, we hope this platform helps you find useful information, support, and guidance.

This is a community knowledge-sharing platform.

It is not an official government website or a legal service.
And sadly, no, we cannot magically speed up USCIS processing times either! (if only).

Our goal is simple:

We also hope to connect people with useful support groups, communities, and resources where possible.

Most importantly, we want people to feel less alone while navigating a complicated journey.

Regarding the information and answers shared here, we will link directly to official government or resettlement sources where possible.

We will also clearly indicate when information comes from community experiences, reports, or discussions.

Processes, requirements and timelines can change quickly.

For that reason, all users remain responsible for their own decisions, applications, travel plans, and outcomes.

While we do our best to keep information useful and accurate, this platform, its volunteers, contributors, moderators, and administrators cannot accept liability for actions taken based on information shared here.
