Green Card - What To Submit (Principal Applicant)
If you were admitted to the United States as a refugee under section 207 of the Immigration and Nationality Act and have been physically present in the country for at least one year with your refugee status still valid and you have not already acquired permanent residence, you may file Form I-485,
Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, without paying any filing or biometrics fee.
- Your application package must include proof of your refugee admission,
such as - a copy of Form I-94 showing your admission date,
- evidence of your one-year physical presence,
- two passport-style photographs,
- a copy of your government-issued photo ID,
- a copy of your birth certificate if available,
- any available passport pages showing nonimmigrant visa or admission stamps, and if CBP provided you with an electronic I-94 you may print it from the CBP I-94 website.
- You must also submit Form I-693 (refugees need only submit the vaccination record portion unless you have a Class A medical condition, in which case you must complete the full medical examination).
- If you have any criminal charges, arrests, or convictions, you must include certified police and court records.
